Change Windows7 Welcome Screen

In Windows7 its possible to change Welcome Screen (that appears when you start your computer with user list) and set Image there as your own choice. This feature is disabled by default, so you’ll have to enable it from the Registry and need to make one new folder only.

To Do this ...

1 ) Open Run Command box
Click here to know how to open Run Command box
2 ) Type "regedit" in "Run" window textbox
3 ) Hit "Enter", this will open "Registry Editor"
4 ) From the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE subtree, navigate/goto following subkey
SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background
to do this click on "+" left side of item name in tree view.
5 ) Double Click on "OEMBackground", "Edit DWORD (32-bit) Value" window will open
If you don’t see "OEMBackground", right-click in the right pane, select the New submenu and create a new DWORD value with "OEMBackground" name
6 ) Enter "1" as "Value data:", Click ok to close
7 ) Open folder "C:\Windows\System32\oobe"
here "C" is drive where windows installed, may be you have some other drive
8 ) Right Click inside the folder, Select New and then New Folder from popup menu

VMware Authorization Service is not running Error

"The VMware Authorization Service is not running" Error
One of my freind is getting this VMware Error while useing "VMWARE" software, and we found its to fast and easy to solved this error


To Do this ...

1 ) Open Run Commandbox
Click here to know how to open run commandbox
2 ) Type "services.msc" in Run Commandbox textbox
3 ) Click on "Ok", and "Services" window open
4 ) Search for "VMware Authorization Service" under "Name" column
5 ) Double click on "VMware Authorization Service"
6 ) "VMware Authorization Service Properties(Local Computer)" window will open
7 ) Check "Service status:", it must be stopped

Windows Logon Message

In Wndows you can add "Logon Message", Warning, Welcome or as Note for all other user of your computer.
When anyone start your computer he/she will see your message first then its allow them to login.


Here is way to add "Logon Message" to your computer ...

1 ) Open "Run" window
To know how to open Run Click here
2 ) Type "regedit" in "Run" window textbox
3 ) Hit "Enter", this will open "Registry Editor"
4 ) From the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE subtree,
navigate/goto following subkey
Windows 95/98
Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Other Windows
Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
to do this click on "+" left side of item name in tree view.
 

5 ) Modify or Add New Value to "LegalNoticeCaption" and "LegalNoticeText"
to do this duble click on "LegalNoticeCaption" and "LegalNoticeText" one by one, you will found this on right side of treeview.
i.e. if you want to add Welcome message, in "LegalNoticeCaption" write "Welcome" and in "LegalNoticeText" write "Welcome, to my comeputer." (here LegalNoticeCaption is caption of your message and LegalNoticeText is your message)
Now restart you computer and you will see your message there before longo screen.

How to open Task Manager, Run, CMD (Command Prompt)

Open Task Manager, Run, CMD (Command Prompt)

Task Manager, Run and CMD(Command Prompt) is windows Tools/Programs that help you to work with many windows functions and help you to monitor your system to...
here is some way to open this tools for Windows XP and Windows 7

Open Task Manager
Task Manager displays list of the programs, processes, and services that are currently running on your computer and there status(i.e. not responding), Its also show your network connection.

Windows XP
1 ) Right-clicking the taskbar
2 ) Select "Start Task Manager" from popup menu
or
You can open Task Manager by pressing "Alt+Ctrl+Del"
Windows 7
1 ) Press "Alt+Ctrl+Del"
2 ) Select "Start Task Manager" from option list
or
You can open Task Manager by pressing "Ctrl+Shift+Esc."


Open Run ...
Run allows a user to run specific tools and programs to logon user or with different permissions than the user's current logon
Windows XP
1 ) Click on "Start Menu"
2 ) Select "Run" from "Start Menu"
Windows 7
1 ) Open Task Manager
2 ) Open "File Menu", and Select "New Task(Run...)" from menu
or
1 ) Open Start Menu
2 ) Type "Run" in "Search Programs and files" textbox.
3 ) "Run" icon will appo in start menu list, Click on icon to open run window
if you want to open "Run" as administrator, right click on run icon in start menu and select "Open As Administrator"

Other
Press "Windows logo key" + "R" can open Run too

Open CMD(Command Prompt) ...
CMD(Command Prompt) allwed user to work in command-line interpreter in windows
Windows XP
1 ) Open "Run" window
2 ) Type "CMD" and hit "Enter" to open Command Prompt
Windows 7
1 ) Open Start Menu
2 ) Type "CMD" in "Search Programs and files" textbox.
3 ) "CMD" icon will appo in start menu list, Click on icon to open run window
if you want to open "CMD" as administrator, right click on run icon in start menu and select "Open As Administrator"
or
1 ) Open "Run" window
2 ) Type "CMD" in Run window, and hit enter to open Command Prompt

All About Sticky Notes, Windows7

Sticky Notes is very useful application in Windows7, You can note all your Pending work, Appointments, Reminders and any Otherthing you want...You can find Sticky Notes also in Windows Vista, in Gadgets.


To Add Sticky Notes in Windows7

1 ) Open Start Menu by clicking windows icon on Taskbar.
2 ) Type "Sticky Notes" in "Search programs and files" textbox on Start Menu. (or goto "All Programs > Accessories > Sticky Notes")
3 ) You will see in "Sticky Notes" icon in statmenu, Click icon to Add ur first Sticky Note.
After you Add first Sticky Note, if you want to add more notes just click on "+" left side of your Sticky Note...
If you want to delete Sticky Note you just need to click "x" on right sire of on note just like other windows...
To Add Text on Sticky Note
1 ) Click on Sticky Note.
2 ) You will see Blinking cursor on Note.
3 ) Type what you want to add in your Note.
Edit Sticky Note Background Color
1 ) Right click on Sticky Note you want to change color.
2 ) Select Colour form Popup menu you want to set for you Note.
You will get Blue, Green, Pink, Purple, White, Yellow as your option.
Edit Sticky Note Text
To set Position and Arrangement of text on your note you need to use these keyboard shortcuts.

Age of Empires - Colour Compatibility issue with Windows 7

Age of Empires 2, Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings, Age of Empires 2: The Conquerors - Colour Compatibility issue with Windows 7




We can't play Age of Empires II on Windows7, because the whole picture go green, I dont know how y this happen but someone told me that it's caused by the poor color-management in aero in Windows 7, but killing explorer.exe before playing the game will fix the problem.
The best two way to do this is ..

Kill explorer.exe run time
1 ) Start the game and ALT+TAB out of it.

2 ) Open Task Manager.
3 ) Select "Prosesses" tab
4 ) Right click on "explorer.exe"

5 ) Select end Progress
6 ) Open game again

After finishing the game you can restart explorer.exe, open Task Manager click File Menu > New Task(run), type "explorer.exe" and press enter.
